They were protestant. The two kids were sent to school with us. A school run by nuns and the local priest. Every day when prayers they were told to leave the class room, and when the priest came for catechism teaching, they were made sit out side in the shelter. A bloody scandalous disgrace and disgusting thing to do, all because of religious beliefs. Them nuns were pure evil, hateful human beings. Atb j My boy has decided not to do his confirmation, he is old enough to know all what’s happened and wants nothing to do with that club......his choice and fair play to him. Caused a bit of a stir in the class room

The only non Gaelic sport allowed is basketball ! Football as in soccer. That's stupid. I used to work with a man who trained rubgy to young kids. He wanted to set up a training course in my village and ask me who was over the local pitch. I told him, and he arranged a meeting. They wouldn't even listen to him. Told him to keep his English sports to himself, and no rubgy would be played on a gaa pitch. He couldn't believe how ignorant they were. Atb j

People tell the government to feck off here and not think twice about it. One of the things I love about the place

As I understand no non Gaelic sports can be played in any GAA facility, the penalties for the club involved are severe.

Why didn’t all those people stay and make the country function and a place the young people could stay ? They bulit it up for their own gains. The long term plan didn't work out for them. All the peirs and roads here were bulit by a Scots man named nemo (spelling) You should see some of the bridges that were done here, designed by the English, bulit by the irish. All the stone wall, ect ect down to the British. Atb j

I can see why it would cause a stir, also can't see why it would either. If everyone lived their lives, each to their own, and minded their own business, this place wouldn't be so messed up. I said it before a few times on here. The amount of houses bulit, cars bought and families raised around here because of the UK is unbelievable. If you came here, you would be surprised at the amount of people that have worked there, even today most of the young people from my aera are over there. It was even on the local radio station how good the UK was and is a lot of families wouldn't much only for her. My neighbour was over on the beet in the 70s, in 1974 a weeks wage was 120 pounds. Hed never see that here He loved it there My parents in law. Same thing said it's a great country. My grandfather, made his money there and built up his farm. Another mate moved home two years ago, building a house next to me. He said it was the worst thing he ever did was to move back here. Only for the kids.
