So who's in charge now, is Leo out?

The Irish language should be taught in schools, it's the native tongue after all, an it's no way dying out, there's a couple of good Irish schools in my area that have sprung up in last few years, actually one round corner from my house now, wee primary school all Irish.

The Irish language is for the Irish, doesn't matter if its no good anywhere else, it doesn't have to be, its for Ireland.

Someone said about no Internet connection, an no work etc

Id go bk to having no Internet, mobile all that stuff, I don't even watch TV unless I'm in mates house.

Back to when you had to grow your own grub, tend to livestock, all that great worthwhile meaningful traditions, laid back chilled, all the old crafts, instead of this rat race of a f****d up society, all sorts of dirty nasty shite going on, bunch of wankers (politicians) taxed like fook, out working to pay the man, f**k at shite

Keep Ireland old an traditional with its traditions, crafts etc, f**k the change, f**k the inter NET.

Ps I'm on it now but I'm stuck in the rat race?

Irish is been taught in ever school Francie. And yes we should keep our language and tradition. And we will.

Best way is from the cradle to the grave. Start at home.

I somewhat agree with you on the phones and internet. It has it's uses, but society has gone to far with it  and relies to much on it.

I'll put it this way. My families name goes back to 1014 in this country, and I'm sure they spoke irish, and I'm not willing to let it die with me. My 7 week old granddaughter is spoken to in iri

It’s like this lads, Ireland is in infrastructure poverty and the UK is in cultural poverty.

That boys, is about the strength of it.

The government won't let anything outside of Dublin, or the east coast. It would cost to much on infrastructure for the government to put work or business any where else.

Also the price of food is expensive as hell, do you think ireland is better in the EU or independent?

Most definitely independent.

This place is very expensive. Only for Aldi and Lidl a lot of families wouldn't have as much.

Here's a far out crazy thought.

What if Ireland was to leave the e.u, threw it's lot in with the UK. The two countries join up in trade partnership and supported each other, but still remaining separate countries.

Out of likes.

But with out combined fishing grounds,  farming, gas oil, wind energy ect ect, we could become a major power house in Europe. But not ruled by the eu.

Or is this all just a fanciful idea.

It's a romantic view you have Francie, it's great if it's just your self to fend for. A bit of land for a cow, a few sheep a pig and chickens, turf for the fire ect ect. We're not long past living like that here.

I would love it to be like that again, but it's a time past, and lost to history.

But  if your young and have a young family to rear, it's no good. You need work and money, and with out infrastructure, you won't have it, so will have to move to the large towns or cities.

Then the little quaint villages die a slow death, with no new life blood to carry on.

I hope it comes true for you.

If you really want a life like that, all you'd need is 8 to 10 acres of land, it's plenty for livestock and veg for the house.

I meant Involved in trading to a greater extent with Irish goods , to counter losses from UK, obviously EU isn't going to declare war on UK lol, I hope lol...

I thought that you was talking about political interference.  Regards trade; "the EU" is just a collection of businesses, small and large and the EU hierarchy can't be seen to support one country's trade just because of a political situation.
