Obviously have a good look at the sire and dam and see how there temperament is. If you can get a pup from someone you know.thats even better.. Patience is key. And allways remember the tounge is stronger than the hand when it comes to dogs. Get some pics up when you get the pup mate. And good luck with the pup.. About 2yrs ago the kids wife and me went to a little funfair fun day thing. On a village green surrounded by square hay bales and people with all kinds of dogs dozens of them. My lad was using the bull x to chase the rag on a lure machine for a bit of fun loads of other dogs taking part watched by 100's Of people. The dog enjoyed lol.. Quote Link to post

I have found bull xs to be the least dog aggressive dogs. You shouldn't have any problems get em around as many dogs as you can and there wont be any problems 7 Quote Link to post

SheepChaser 8,083
I have limited Experiance of owning bull x’s having owned a total of one, but have been around quite a few, including Lurchers with more bull than running dog. My observation has been that for the most part if socialised well, And trained well, they are pretty well mannered, very laid back and generally easy to be around. However what I have noticed is that if another dog does push their switch, there’s no dancing about, it’s game on. The only fight my two Lurchers have ever had was over a bowl of food I’d forgotten id left in the garden when I let them out one night. Old dog who’s a bit of everything with a dose of collie, found it and started munching, young bull x came up and went to join in, old dog growled at her and then went at her. Having never shown a raised lip in her life, the young dog locked onto the old Lurchers head. Luckily I was standing next to them by that time. 2 Quote Link to post

C.green 3,229
I seen a handy old bull x dog slam a big sized bull terrier that started trouble but what i liked was when the bull terrier gave in and showed its throat the bull x dog knew when to stop. The way some bull x owners talk its like they popped out and the dog had a feller tied to a chair in the garage they only dogs and should know manners unless ya like em abit feral. I personally dont. I seen same dog have terriers going into each other around him and never gave it a second look.ive never trusted bitches quie the same though bitches make stitches n all that. Expose the pup to everything mate as soon as you get him and lots of positive reinforcement. Will prob have a lot if drive so education is key. Quote Link to post
poxon 5,724
I’ve limited experience with the cross there the same as any other cross regarding be social as there social animals but most bull crosses if shit gets real an hostility is bought to them they won’t shy away there give there all to try an kill the dog bringing hostility towards them same as any other dog it’s just if a bull x that’s been used for the job regular is far more tapped in an efficient at killing given how strong an powerful most are there make short work of most Lurchers in a kennel fight if it kicks off Quote Link to post
