sionnach99 1,262
How are lads finding fox numbers this year. Up or down? the rifle lads are doing serious damage in my area. Each to their own and all that but 4/5 foxs shot off the roads in a night couple of nights a week most of the year round isn’t going to last. And then night vision aswell... a Few years there will be nothing to hunt. 4 Quote Link to post

No amount of wild life could take a hammering like that. I'm out most days, in some very wild and rual places, and not seen a fox for months. Atb j Quote Link to post

I personally know of a number of lads round here who shoot a huge number of foxs I’m talking well over 100 and when confronted use the excuse there was always lads shooting foxs and there was always foxs. The same lads went to a local spot night after night and shot over 50 rabbits in a week. It’s a fcuking joke. Quote Link to post

I know they have to be controlled, but not wiped out. What will the shoot when their gone. You'd be lucky to shoot two rabbits here. Atb j Quote Link to post

Wouldn't get very far lol. Seriously though, I bet you see more in a week in the city, than I would in 6 months in the country. Mad isn't it. Atb j Quote Link to post

Atb j I rarely see an in the fields pal, I could lamp them from my front door, if the dogs leave food in their bowls I do put it in the garden an within ten or 15 minutes there does be a fox eating it, I was in the city centre on o connell St, an one walked right past me, not a bother on it 1 Quote Link to post

Atb j You see it every year on the c**ts of pages on Facebook, lads posting pictures of milky vixens...I seen one lad last year commented ‘I’d gladly shoot the last fox in Ireland given the chance’ . Says it all really... was out for a shine the other night and came acros two lads with rifles. And I wasn’t out long. Quote Link to post

dogmandont 9,839
Foxes get hammered round here as well. Nowhere near the numbers there used to be. Quote Link to post
Liamboy 1,266
Same around here. There's loads of rifle men out now hammering them all year round. Was talking to 1 man before Xmas and he had over eighty. for the year. I have noticed a big difference in the numbers being put out when doing bits of cover. We have to travel a bit further to get decent hunting these days. Edited January 20, 2020 by Liamboy 2 Quote Link to post
sionnach99 1,262
A mate of mine was in one of his permissions few weeks back now and a fox left in the field where he was shot. They have no respect and looks bad on all of us. We used to put a hell of a lot more foxs out of cover few years ago than we do now that’s for sure. Every Tom, dick and Harry getting given a liscence . I was talking to a lad the other night who told me himself to my face that the only reason he was allowed a rifle liscence from the station was because the guards knew he was coursing hares and couldn’t stop him so they gave him a rifle for rabbits and foxs to stop him coursing... they have to tighten up on rifle liscencing or there won’t be a deer fox or rabbit left 1 Quote Link to post
