micky 3,325
An old chap in the Village asked my Mrs if I could get him a couple of Rabbits she said yes but has any one noticed that once you promise wild stuff it's almost to get . I went down the Lane to a spot where I have tripped a few up over the last Month, coming from the other side of the Fell the first thing I saw was a Rabbit that I snared last Week and had been taken by a Fox the next thing was a marker pin which I had left behind you can see where the Rabbits have been chewing it they love the Hazel Bark and often sit and have a chew even if they are in a Snare! I have wondered if Hazel twigs would be a good bait for Cage traps as they seem to find it irresistible . one corner of the Fellside Field stinks of Rabbits the have turned the Grass Bright Yellow with their piss and it is a mass of runs no good to me though because the Grass has been pressed flat and the Tealer would be too low plus a peg would not hold in this wet Peat anyway I got half a dozen down and we shallsee in the Morning 1 Quote Link to post

The Rabbit I caught is sat in the catch circle about three feet from the Fence. Quote Link to post
