Yes granted but as we’ve mentioned here before that 1liverpool drill we all see time and time again .

If you i and newkid can see it , then every one else worth there cheese can as well get at pace it’s nigh on nightmare for defenders as it literally takes seconds to do .

That movement is a nightmare as when they concertina the defence across the pitch , few teams play with a defensive mid these days anchoring in attack so when the gaps appear the Liverpool mid can step up and hit from range .

Imagine being a centre half with looking at salah,  mane , firminho , Henderson , Arnold and Robertson running at you at pace. Where do you go to to check that ?

The ball or do you be brave and stay with the man ?

Sherringham, Bergkamp etc may have been “slower” in terms of pace but they were also getting hit with 6 tackles a game that would be red card offences now.......the game is faster now, but that is because it can be faster under the rules.

Were players having less time on the ball though mate im not sure....ok yes they were getting hit with crunching tackles from all angles but it took a lot longer to physically get there....today Vardy is going to be all over a defender dilly dallying on the ball ok he isnt going to crunch him but worse still he,s going to nick the ball and f**k off with it....no ?

Today’s game is faster than it’s ever been and the likes of Ronaldo and Ibrahimovich have raised the bar massively in terms of conditioning and how you can keep in 1st class shape well into your late 30s......and I agree that the ball moves quicker but I would also add that is because it can !

I would say rule changes have facilitated lightweight sprinters that wouldn’t have survived 6 games in the days the lads you mention were playing.

No doubt the games changed...

During that 90s and early 00's period there seemed to be a lot of these type of players...even players like Hagi or Figo could struggle with today's pace..??

For for me there are probably mane , salah, firminho, vvd, taa at Liverpool

Aguerro , kdb, sterling at city

probsbly Kane and Erickson at spurs

Kante on a rare good day .

I define world class as being able to be taken that day , out into any side in the world and improve it .

You forgot Mark Noble !!

What about that Spurs lad Son or Song is it......reminds me a lot of Ronaldo the way he runs at players.

When you've got 2 full backs who switch play so quickly you are up against it...

I.renember we were taught, if one full back goes the other tucks in and protects...

Not this side, they both attack along with the mobile front 3 and 1 or 2 midfielders.... then you have 2 centre backs who ping balls around like Hoddle....its unplayable...

To be fair , I don’t watch spurs enough week to week , I’ve only started watching them really when Jose took over.

But I would say son just misses out on world class status . Just as I’d omit that lad at city who pins the midfield....

There you go mate, pace is good....but ability is better

Oh I'd rather watch a sheringham in his pomp... the vision and how he passed the ball was top notch...

Thing is Sterling will make 4 or 5 chances ever game, he is that mobile and quick, all the guile in the world doesn't give you that...

De Bruyne is some player though, he has the lot imo..

For me it’s the pressure and pace Liverpool play with, Id like to think people don’t think every attack is going to score. As it just don’t work like that.

You look at Liverpool though and it looks like they could score ten twelve every game . The attack is constantly probing and dragging around and the defence isn’t bad either

I think kdb is too good for that city team even. You can see in his head sometimes how annoyed he gets that some aren’t on his level .

An unbelieveable player

You still think de gea ?

Ive seen him single handedly keep united in games like but last two years ?? Think he’s sliding a bit ?

I think hes been affected more than anyone with the circus around UTD in the last few years....hes made some howlers, but hes had absolute shite in front of him...

Maguire and wan Bissaka are good signings and will steady it a bit...

I think De Gea is still.only 30 or so, in his prime as a keeper....
