Target shooting

Recommended Posts

I used to shoot Bell Target which was invented in your neck of the woods. It was 6mt so a bit closer than the 10mt you are talking about but nevertheless comparable. As with any gun.............................what is your budget because a target rifle from Air Arms starts at £840  and climbs up to around £3200 for top of the range competition guns.

If you are just wanting to have a low key entry into target shooting, a cheap but cracking little gun is the Air Arms T200, series one split stock with a track system under the forend to take a hamster can be bought for about £250-350. My local rfd gets a few every year, fit a diopter sight and away you go.

Intershoot are worth looking at as they supply everything needed for target shooting.

Just before Christmas I bought a new Walter Gehmann jacket from Intershoot. Good outfit to deal with. I shoot 22lr smallbore  target. A mate shoots air pistol and rifle but I've no idea what guns he uses. I know that their not cheap.  They use electric triggers and stuff.

I have to agree on the T200. It is the only pre charged air rifle that made me go "Wow," when l picked it up. And "Wow," again , 20190728_213923.jpg.bd63555a67f65ad28f594ebfb18174ab.jpgwhen l fired it . Yet l keep getting told it is a beginners' rifle.

I payed £160 ....so shop around.

I had a look on guntrader and there's a few on there? It's not my discipline so I don't know anything about which weapon is best? Are you a member of a club and it it possible to have a look or a go with different weapons from the club members ?

I am a member of a few clubs but they are more into hft. So they are not that much in the know about 6 to 10 meter style

It's pretty bad really.  I am into shooting stuff in a reasonable way, Clays, game , walked up, Lamping fox and rabbit, reloading shots hell and centerfires,  and to show my ignorance I didn't know what HFT stood for !  I had to google it?.   it's like my mates shooting air rifle ect.  Because I'm not doing it I haven't got a clue about what he does or what he uses.
