HOW MUCH ?

Recommended Posts

?????  OW MUCH !!!!     I remember hearing  that out in a market in Turkey.  The boy's in the market had all the British accents of to a T.  " Ow much ?  Diya think ay cumt down int last shower wit bananas ?  Yer away wit fairies you lot".

Those jokers are good.  What are you all using #5s on pigeon for?  let's start a new year .... decade argument about shot size and chokes.

I can't start it now cos I'm just off shooting ?

Do you know what, I bet the components of these expensive cartridges are no different than a cheaper line and that they are simply tapping into  folks belief that " more is better".

Some of the Gamebore Cartridges use diamond shot. They will be more expensive because it uses a process to make the shot highly polished which makes them fly and penetrate better due to less friction. Obviously more machining = more production time = more cost. However, I bet for the majority of the cartridges the only difference is the amount of powder put into each different loading. Wadding, cases, primers and even powders are probably the same, with the only differences being the load - I bet all except the most specialised loadings use the same powder type.

I used to buy Gamebore White Gold (my favourite Clay round) for £197 per 1,000.

I never get into the cartridge/shot size argument, I just use whatever I have or whatever I’ve been given or whatever’s cheap they all kill sh*t, for example I was at the shoot this morning I had the semi auto with me and a squizzer ran out in front of me, I let it have it with a 40g 3’s mini magnum it was pretty dead but no more dead than if I’d shot it with a 26g clay load ?

or a 410.  I've just got back from shooting at a friends place.  I've gone through 300 cartridges today. So I'll be out to restock with a couple of slabs.  I'm not that fussed as to what they are. as long as they go bang and I put the lead on the target I'm sure that they will do their best.
