stormrider8 59
a good lamper will blind the quarry and not the dog so the only thing thequarry has is its ears left to judge how close the dog is to try and out turn it thats why you catch more at night than day time thats my opinion well said and you can blind the dog if you put the lamp on the dog but usly the dog runs in the dark after the light where there is a bunny or what ever and you can shake the lamp and that makes rabbits turn the other way from the cover some times if your dogs any good it should be in the lampbeem all the time right up its preys ares ?? how wide is your beam!! salukiman 28
it started by a lamp dog doesnt need brains i think it does actually more, iam sure it has to be a more carefull runner?it cant just be a fast dog it needs to read its prey more,we all know it cant see hand signalls and silence is golden out there at night, and one person said a daytime dog HAS to have a good nose well what about a night time dog NO NOSE are just know not to use it because surelly theres plenty of scent out there on its return to its master my oppinion a night dog is much more of a skilled dog,and iam talking rabbits only here, the retreive for my dogs is always in pure darkness not like the daytime dog, mark bang on the mark Quote Link to post
baz 463
yes snoop word travels fast when a minshawsx is showing these coursing dogs up on the fens i dont think snoop would mind me saying this but his dog isnt a minshaw x the nearest snoops dog is to a minshaw is a great grandparent....so that hardly rules him as a minshaw bred dog. it also has bull, rigeback, whip, greyand saluki on its mother side....on his sire,s side he is merlin and eve bred...which is mainly saluki x greyhound...for snoops dog to be killing hares on the fens id say its thrown more to his sire, and more importantly i think the dog is just in the right hands ..on the other hand we took a lad with a minshaw x to the fens just before christmas, and it did no where near as good as snoops ..it ran 3, jacked on 3....and didnt move for a few days afterwards, now im not saying this is minshaw dogs on the whole but the lad who owned the dog told us his dog had been flattening hares on the lamp, it did nothing on the fens.
