Personally I wouldn’t Shan myself by putting two dogs into a hare in any circumstances, but I’ve seen lads doing that out lamping. I also wouldn’t say that any of the jukels you’ve posted up are in any way shape or form bred for the improvement of the line or for competitive reasons . I think we have the worlds best coursing dogs here in this island. The husbandry and the genetics placed into in the pasta 50 years then cannot be compared to the average owner worldwide. Actually quite insulting to the lads who walk the stubbles . I’m not one for all that Middle East psycho babble either about animals . Remember the serious hawking sheiks all get their birds from northern England and Scotland . Not misguided more not blinded lol. I didn't post them to be improvements, I particularly posted to show people enjoying their dogs around the world, not as some competition. As to 50 years of breeding, I expect the rest have also been doing the same hence the emergence of a type. And anyone insulted by the thought that they are the only ones with decent dogs are to far stuck up their own backsides . The idea that English dogs, other than pure greys are commonly exported is over stated, a few have been but not many, especially in comparison to say Galgos. Plus the "serious hawking sheiks " ain't the ones getting out there, that's the average Joe same as over here. 1 Quote Link to post

Bring yours down to the twenty road at Bourne this time next year and see how it performs against an average Fen dog or in the black down at the top of Cambridgeshire and you’ll see why no c**t has them. I’m not saying that the dogs aren’t doing anything elsewhere in the world , but your attempting to insinuate that dogs elsewhere are the equal of anything from this old place . They aren’t , few dogs are as specialised and as geared towards a specific quarry anywhere in the world as a fen type runner. To gloss those lads who chase the fen hare and were sticking their dogs into portomags, using electrolytes, barf feeding , exercise keeps for decades before the rise of it in the modern dog world and to compare them to some kalahari dwellers with a few sloughis is massively insulting in my eyes . The development of the English saluki greyhound type should be considered one of our greatest canine achievements alongside the foxhound and working terrier imho 4 Quote Link to post
