Kye 77
f**k it,...i lost last night. I lost my first fight in the States, and then i went on a six fight winning spree, three wins via KO...it all came to an end last night. It was a re-match...against the guy i broke my hand on...it was only three, three minute rounds, and imo, thats where the down fall for me was...also, him being a wrestler, and in a small cage, no matter how i defended the shoot, we ended on the cage side....he was basicly in my guard the whole fight, and i was working subs as best i could...i spand for Omaplata's, Kimouras, even a knee-bar...just as i was finding my rythm on the ground, the round was over....im just a late starter, and for whatever reason, i cant change that...i think style wise, it was just a bad fight...not taking anything away from my opponent, he beat me fair and square...he was the better man that night...im having two days off and getting ready for the next one....i said i would keep you guys informed, and there you go, the bitter sweat truth!..lol... f**k I HATE LOSING!.. Jay,.. PS...i just wanna say a HUGE thank you to F.R and my mate Will...i would never have cut the water weight if them lads wasnt there...i cut 11lbs in water in 2 1/2 hours...it was f*****g missrable, and i swear i was nearly crying like a girl half way through, and im not ashamed to admit it...cheers FR, you saved the day mate...im just sorry i let everyone down that helped me. ratkilla 35
God Dam it ! lol, Well mate from what i saw on them dvd's when i was over of you fighting him last time all he wanted to do was wrestle and in the smaller cage i suposse it was just alot easyer for him, but it's a shame he don't like to stand other wise he'd have looked like he did last time. Poor bugger!! I hope your not to wound up for this next fight as you brused my skin when you were messing about with the od kick and slap lol. It'll be a fun fight to watch and to see the out come of the guy who your fighting, isn't he more of a stand up fighter ? I'll give you a bell in the next day or so to catch up and see how things are your way in genral !!!
gnasher16 30,121
You have done the right thing mate, back in the gym and figure out where you went wrong....i dont buy into all the hand round the shoulder rub my belly stuff....losing is not supposed to be fun and its not something to get used to and be ok about.....people mean well but whether its a fight or a game of chess if you lose you WANT to suffer, you want it to be horrible so you make sure it doesnt happen again and thats how it should be with every loss...if losing wasnt bad nobody would care. You havent got as far as you have by not having the right mental attitude and history has proved that whatever level a man competes at a loss often does them good in the long run.......get straight back on the horse and all that.....never seen you fight mate but if your strength is stand up then equally important is your takedown defence....but you know all that anyway...best of luck to you and thanks for keeping us informed. Kye 77
Thanks guys,...ive been led on the sofa all day today, eating pumpkin pie and cream...lol...i dont have a truck today, otherwise i would have been at training today...one day off wont kill though. Man, i HAVE to improve my wrestling...i think that is my weakness now...they wrestle over here in school and college, and as you lads no, we dont in England...so i guess im playing catch-up!...im not making exscuses though, he beat me...im sure i will loose fights again in the future...but not for a while...i have bigger fish to fry! The next guy im fighting says he WANTS to stand with me...so im realy looking forward to that fight...Rich Frankiln is gonna be there, so i have gotta put on a good show...show 'em how we get down in England eh!?..lol... The MAIN things i have learnt is as follows...lol. 1) No more 3, three minutes round fights...i do much better as the fight gets longer and longer, so we are trying to make my next one 3, five minute rounds. 2) I have got to get over the mental block/fear of ME having to at some point, take the other guy down...i dont know why, i can take down big guys in practice, get me in a fight, and the thought of taking someone down is very dounting...i dont know why yet though?...i think im learning alot about my mental state in a fight still, you know? 3) NEVER, EVER again, am i going to cut more than 6-8lbs in water...it was f*****g horrible, and although i FELT ok mentally at the time, i think i do alot of second guessing myself and my own abilitys when i am DOING the cutting,...i think this is/was my down fall. 4) Sometimes, you just gotta let them hands go,...if you have lost the first two rounds, what do you have to loose right?...i relied to much on my BJJ, and the rounds where just NOT long enough for me to start my game in that...MMA is NOT a Grappling match, and i think to some exstent, i have been training like that TO much...i need to look at it like its a fight again. f**k it...6 wins 2 loss'...i guess i can live with that...i know one thing...i cant live with a record of 6 wins 3 loss'...so this next guy is in for a rough night!... Jay,.. Royston, RatKillah, give us a call anytime guys...hope you are all well.
