Kennel fight, well a garden fight really she killed a terrier and turned on my misses and gave her a few stitches when she tried to stop it..She wouldn't have done it if i were there and she never once in her life got out of line for me but that one time she wasn't in the mood for a yappy terrier wanting to play i was at work. I thought it would be the best place to get it out of its system, all your doing is suppressing a natural desire. Who told you that is a good thing to do?
byron 1,188
she chews her bedding mate..since its been on the chewing has greatly reduced to the point of she's stop doing it.and before anyone go's on about sprays etc,,i have tried everything.even powerfull home made jobbies 1 hour ago, leegreen said: so you need to stop your dog from chewing what it wants in the woods? ftm 3,357
When my Springer (troy)has gone I plan to get a malanois .I'm ok with dogs training discipline etc . But I think these dogs are on a different level being 100% switched on 24/7 got a few yrs to dwell on it though

I understand your frustration, but that's what they do. Obviously the muzzle works, but only while its on. The command "no" works well and giving them something they are allowed to chew. If your worried about stuff when you're not looking, then a cage is the answer. I've never used sprays etc. What I don't understand is you are out in the woods where you are away from household valuables, let it have a chew, its good for them. Your pup is 11 months old let it have a chew. Yes I've had a few and now I have two. You should see the state of my chew proof kennels . They don't chew unnecessary stuff now at the age of 7 & 5 but they still like a chew. A nice bone, a hard wood branch lasts a while or plastic bottles are a favourite. A chewing Mali is a happy dog. It's boredom, the more drive your dog has the more stimulation it needs.

She has thoes kong chew toys, the only ones that seem to have lasted. Atb j
leegreen 2,186
Sorry to hijack your thread Byron. When I have all of my dogs indoors (when it gets below zero) they sleep on blankets that I get from a friendly charity shop and they will get chewed, but hey ho. The blankets don't get sold unless they are special. I just put a fiver in the charity box and take a washing bag full. I use them in the back of the truck too. Wash them when they smell and throw them when there is more hole than blanket I also use them in the old dogs hard plastic bed indoors. Dead mans blankets
