Dutch shepherd(malanois)  are a very active  full on breed and in the correct hands are a cracking companion / guard dog. A mate (pav) has a lurcher with mal in it and it will tackle anything you ask of it

the muzzle is to protect anything she wants to chew..they are full on.i have been teaching!!! fire and calmness. and will be doing this for the next few weeks. she has come up the lead and nailed me when she was younger..lol..its a differant way of training i suppose..now we have an understanding..as a lot of you know, when it comes in dark.everything gets sorta highlighted..she is 100% socialised with people/dogs horses etc,,it is the first time other night that she has switched off, and sleeping at my feet.a few seconds only,,but a start.tonight in the woods she was full on guarding, maybe someone about, but more than likely fox/badger/deer.i bike both my dogs morning and night, depending etc..both run free and heel to the bike..i have torn my hair out at times with her.but now i think i got it cracked..i do a bit of wood camping etc.and would be away in my camper..but she's poorly..she is dutch shepherd x malinois..with looks of the mally..oh.....and she came from north yorkshire police dog section handler..thanks..

Was wondering the same thing, not really a fan of them especially when out and about as it stops the dog from defending itself or catching some lunch if you should loose it ???
