nor am I, but I have seen some very use full deerhound lurchers, none of witch had anything to do with plats, the seventy's  and eighty's produced some very average deerhound greyhounds in contrast, jmho, from a single handed coursing viewpoint.

When I was a youngster they was plenty deer hound x s that took plenty of hares ,deer and fox .

then came the saluki and they took favour over the deer hounds and xs ,

to b honest I never had a deerhound or x as not my type .

daves dogs are deerhound greyhound x deerhound grey .i know couple lads that work them and they speak highly of them ,

i was just trying to help the fella and that's why I said platts dogs .

like I say not my type .

Deerhound xs greyhounds aren't coursing dogs they are a type that offers abit a this and that ta a keeper who wants limited jukels single keeper they will catch long ears but they have a bit more versatility than the average jukel. Mutt offa other types simple has that plus they generally pleading ta the eye atb bill

We had a bull greyhound x deerhound greyhound year’s ago on our little team it was bred out of Decent we’ll proven foxing gear to be honest it was a bit of a anti climax to what we were expecting he was beautiful dog to look at big strong rough coated dog pretty fast in a strange line couldn’t turn for shit though being a big heavy dog we were expecting him to be a real good dog for bigger stuff but it wasn’t meant to be he was given opportunity regular but nothing come of him he was given away at about 3yrs old when reality set in he was never going to for fill requirements when a little 21tts bull cross bitch an a 21tts bedlington x we’re doing the business regular as clock work at the time I like the sound of some of these big lurcher crosses Most are found wanting though
