fatlad 250 Posted November 22, 2019 Report Share Posted November 22, 2019 It's my spaniels first season ive got 4 days beating this week is this too much for her I'm thinking of leaving her home at least one day out of the 4 she was spot on today I'm out tomorrow was thinking about leaving her tomorrow she is my first gundog and I really don't want to mess things up with her how often should she be out in her first season or is it a case the more the better 1 Quote Link to post

dodger 2,765 Posted November 22, 2019 Report Share Posted November 22, 2019 (edited) Depends as well if your beating or picking up or are you doing both can make a difference as a dog doing both beating and picking up especially if drive after drive n flighting as well are being put under the cosh a lot more than someone who has multiple dogs n swap n change dogs between drives or days but as long as you maintain them well then they should be fine both mine are out 4 times a week n manage ok but look after em n plough the grub into them, just picking up for excample you you can get away with a lot more jmo, as for a first season dog I wouldn't be doing anywhere near that much, good to hear she's doin well n ope you both have a good season..
