Jekyll 329
Took mine back today after seeing the plr500 last night.. for the money the light force didn’t really preform well at all, the colour of light made it difficult to follow and that halo ring couldn’t get on with 1 Quote Link to post
D Lloyd 2,790
Took the lamps out last night and put them through their paces. Was very impressed with both lamps. The 3-stage switch is a great new feature; goes from high to medium to low. The lowest light is easily the equivalent to a PLR500 and a similar spot, maybe slightly wider. The medium is easily equal and then some to the Gamekeeper 120, however not as wide a beam as the Gamekeeper. High mode is by far the brightest light I have seen, with this lamp being 45W. Well, this was until I tried the second new model which is a whopping 65W. This is crazy bright, putting out over 6500 lumens. The spot on this lamp is wider than the 45W, which is quite tight. I thought it would be easy to pick the better lamp and just stick with the one model for sales, but after showing it to two friends, both keen lampers, typically one preferred the 45W and the other the 65W! Now the specs... DL160 45W LED Lamp £165.00 (optional extra battery £25) removable 12V lithium battery 3.75 amp 45W LED brightness 4000 lumens mode switch; high, medium, low run time: high 1 hr, medium 1.5 hr, low 2.5 hr charge time 3 hr 'fuel gauge' display on battery waterproof rating IP65 lifespan 10,000 hr aluminium alloy body colour temp 6000-7000K spot beam beam distance (factory spec) 1000m reverse connection protection 160mm head diameter weight 0.99kg built-in stand wall charger included additional battery available separately DL120 65W LED Lamp £175.00 (optional extra battery £25) removable 12V lithium battery 5.4 amp 65W LED brightness 6500 lumens comes with removable red filter mode switch; high, medium, low run time: high 1 hr, medium 1.5 hr, low 2.5 hr charge time 3 hr 'fuel gauge' display on battery waterproof rating IP65 lifespan 10,000 hr ABS body colour temp 7000-8000K spot beam beam distance (factory spec) 1500m reverse connection protection 120mm head diameter weight 0.76kg built-in stand wall charger included additional battery available separately The lithium battery in both models is easy to remove, even in the dark, and additional batteries are available for sale separately. Batteries are small and fit in any coat pocket easily. The battteries also can be used as a stand-alone power pack to charge thermal cameras, GPS handsets and collars and mobile phones. When the battery is removed there is an additional connector which fits onto the lamp to connect to your vehicle's cigarette lighter. Quote Link to post
