I know so many Yids who will be waking up and crying into their bagels this morning they have hated Mourinho the last 15 years but you watch how long it takes for them to start calling him the next Bill Nicholson !

Anyway thats it im off to stalk Mr.Pochetino and ply him with as much drink,drugs and sexy mamas as it takes for him to sign on the dotted line for the mighty Hammers

I’d like to see what a coach like him would do with our youth set up and building a young first team, may take a month to get the stink of watermelon off him but we can live with that.

This news is good for my Fantasy Football Team. I've got Gazzaniga in goal and his clean sheet prospects have taken a turn for the better with ten white shirts camped round his penalty area

Can't see Kane getting the Golden Boot in the next couple of years it takes for Mourinho to be sacked again.

The stars are aligning for Manchester United to go shopping at Spurs and a few other clubs, my own included.

One thing is for certain; they will have to sell before they buy. Levy won't change his tight fiscal policy. I reckon Lloris, Rose and pretty well all of their established defence, Lamela, Dier, Wanyma..........  The only thing they can't yet sell is their striker as they only have one.

Lamela would be a good buy for West Ham. IF he can stay fit he is a very good player.

Apologies if ive asked before but what club do you follow yourself Nicepix ?.........i always enjoy listening to lads footie views but have to know who they support before deciding whether to take them serious or not

A very brave move from mourinho if I’m honest and if he does win a trophy at Tottenham , he can make serious claims to be the best ever in uk . 

I think we will see a different Tottenham in next few weeks , players will want to work for him imho delle Ali etc will now be pulling up trees.

That f***ing Jew Levy will have promised him the earth.

I rate Mourinho, how could you not....his record speaks for itself.

Maybe he has gone away, thought about things and wants a new challenge.....

Now, hopefully Sullivan & Gold have got Pottechino out at a nice restaurant, filling him with good wine and good grub on the exes and they both have a pen in their pocket !

I don't support anybody Gnasher. I used to follow and watch Leeds in the Revie era as that was where we were living when I discovered football. I ripped the badge off my denim jacket the day Clough was appointed and never got close to any club again. I admire clubs like Leicester & Bournemouth  for punching above their weight whilst playing attractive football, and clubs like Liverpool who have consistently played good football come what may. There were periods when I admired Arsenal under the young Wenger and West Ham under Bilic. I am warming to Chelsea under Lampard too. I don't like cheating and Chairmen taking the loyalty of fans for granted and I don't like clubs who buy success as per City and the Chelsea of a few years ago. 

I plead neutrality!

It could so easily go the other way. Some of the Spurs players who are refusing to sign extensions could get higher wages elsewhere. There is a lot of money sloshing around football at the moment and Levy is notoriously tight with the purse strings. Mou's history at ManU won't be repeated. He won't be able to buy 2 or 3 defenders, try them a few games then ask the chairman for some more. Poch' had been unhappy for 18 months with Spurs' lack of investment.

I've read a lot about Clough and whilst I can't knock his results, they are facts, when you look behind the headlines there are other things to consider. The most important one was Peter Taylor. Without him Clough was average at best. Taylor on his own was no better. But together, with the right Chairman, they worked brilliantly. The problem was that Cloughie, like Mourinho made too many enemies of his friends. He was his own worst enemy and when Taylor finally had enough of him Clough was finished. He could never have made England manager. He had no diplomacy.

They fell out when Taylor wouldn't join him at Leeds, preferring to remain at Brighton  and were never as close again. Clough cheated Tayor all through their early days; he was never straight with him about their wages and bonuses and when Taylor found out he never really trusted Clough in the same way again. They only got together grudgingly as each knew that they were not as good on their own.

For all Clough's bluster about Leeds being cheats, and I have no doubt that they were, he himself wasn't squeaky clean. He was dipping into gate receipts, taking cash for himself and admitted in his autobiography sneaking into the Baseball Ground and turning the sprinklers on all night to create a waterlogged pitch that would prevent Benfica from playing their normal game.

He wasn't the right man for Leeds and I doubt that Mou is the right man for Spurs. But time will tell.

I'm not doubting that. But Taylor didn't leave Brighton until July 1976. Clough had been sacked from Leeds two years previously in August 1974. During the time Clough was at Leeds he begged Taylor to join him and wouldn't speak to him for months after the sacking blaming Taylor for not joining him. It took nearly two years before they made up.

There was more than one occasion when they fought and had to be separated. Usually when they were drunk. They needed each other. Like a  husband and wife in a marriage marred with domestic violence.

Google might be OK for confirming dates and the like, but charity shops are better for the books that tell the stories in detail
