I think for a long time we went through the “just stay alive” mentality in the premier league. I don’t think that’s the case anymore. I think that shit died with Ranieris Leicester team and Guardiolas and Klopps attitude of wanting to win absolutely everything, never taking their foot off the pedal. I think Rodgers has captured it too as could be plainly seen in the 8-0 or whatever it was demolition of Southampton (I think it was Southampton)...they wanted more, they wanted to destroy their opponents which is exactly the right attitude. You are seeing so many teams come out fighting now it’s unbelievable....they don’t want to just stay alive, they actually want to win this thing. I think that is a massive change we ha e seen in the premier league. Im not so sure about that at the relegation end of the table i think we still see a lot of the Mourinho type nick a goal and then park the bus...yes the top clubs are not happy with a 1 nil you only have to look at the goals for columns compared to other years.....but i still think it can almost be unfair to watch a team get totally outplayed but park the bus and hoof it to a draw sometimes.....i once said to a mate that to stop that i think there should be a rule that a team must have 3 players in front of the ball at all times or a free kick should be awarded......................yeah he said dont be so stupid as well

The player and student of coaching in me would move because you have to.

WILF 47,140
That’s true about non league, Paul Konchesky has a few games down our little local club last season. Its also a decent place to watch up and coming youngsters out on loan and cutting their teeth.

If it was my club id want them to redevelop the old ground not move to a new one.....exactly the same as i wanted with West Ham. However thats Ac Milan....there isnt a higher level of football to use as a carrot to dangle in front of their fans......the carrot we had dangled in front of us was football being taken " to the next level " Edited December 18, 2019 by gnasher16
WILF 47,140
Point is, even AC Milan are saying that if they don’t do something modern then they will diminish !.......this is AC Milan we are talking about.......can you ever imagine uttering the words “Remember AC Milan?.....yeah, they play in division 3 in Italy but years ago they were one of the best ever” I can’t.......

But is putting a lick of paint on your walls " doing something modern " ?....where did this " brand/next level/modern " talk in football even come from anyway......yes ok if shiny architecture and airport like concourses with plush tiled bogs are the in thing then crack on but that doesnt need to change the entire football club and community.....look at clubs like Liverpool or Rangers as examples that had the best of both and got it just about right.
