I have always said you can’t say who the best is out of him and Messi, they are completely different players mate.

gnasher16 30,025
Traditionally West Ham have always been renowned for the young talent we brought through, very few West Ham sides over the past 50 years have not contained at least 3 or 4 regular first team home grown players....ok at the moment theres only 2 Declan Rice and Mark Noble but i put the blame for the recent lower numbers squarely at the feet of that silly fat c**t Allardyce.......our academy/youth squad had for years and years been run by Tony Carr,a brilliant talent spotter who raised a lot of young players up from local leagues to play at the very highest level ( the 2010 England World Cup team contained 7 out of the 11 players out of the West Ham Academy run by Carr )......yet during the Allardyce tenure at the club he all but broke our academy apart preferring cheap African imports to local lads at one point going on record telling the owners " big clubs buy big players, small clubs grow their own "....hopefully the recent appointment of Ricky Martin who described the job as " The most illustrious job in the world of youth football " will see a return to the traditions of the club on a similar level as before. Nothing new there Wilf. Leeds brought Jack Charlton all the way from Northumberland, put him up in a B&B and told the landlady to feed him up
