WILF 47,583
It will be a f***ing terrible day for you, make no mistake. Nobody can take one ounce of that load off you and I’m sure many reading your heartbreaking posts wish they could. However the only advice I can offer is, when it’s done put it down and leave it there. Turn your face to the sun and get on with the business of living and honouring the memory of your wife which is, I’m sure, exactly what she would have wanted you to do. Dont make the postscript to her life a tragic one, you have to be a stronger man than that. Keep us all posted and I hope to see a few accounts of some days spent out in the field from you as I’m sure we all do. 12
iworkwhippets 12,699
ok lads to thank you all for your kind words just doesn't seem enough . but ive nowt else to offer, had the stroke team in on Monday .they are pleased with my progress, but im just a bit unsteady on my pins, so macmillan and a nurse will be escorting me to the funeral, also a mental health team visit me every day, they are concerned for my safety, their words not mine, ive made it quite clear that I have two options open to me, but promised doctors and macmilan I wont do nothing silly until I have done my final bit for Ruthy today, but why should I grieve when there is a way out, now if any of you members or mods think im an attention seeking old git. then by all means close the topic., im sad, im lonely, and im in tears, sorry lads

pesky1972 5,335
I hope today went as well as could be expected. All any of us can hope for when our time’s up is that we were loved. Nothing else matters. And if she knew you loved her to the end, and I’m sure she did, then you did her proud friend. As for anyone thinking you’re attention seeking..., nothing could be further from the truth. There’ll be hundreds, maybe thousands of lads and lasses on here who’s hearts are breaking for your troubles. I’ve read the posts and they’re heartfelt. Many probably haven’t posted because they can’t find the right words. I can’t, but would only urge that you hang in there pal. 18
