get caught digging with no permission.......get told,"come knock the door next time boy" that wouldn't happen these days....only started knocking for permission after the ban came in lol?

I’ve got permission now on a farm, that I used to poach as a kid. When he was showing me round, I though I know more than you do lol, regarding where sets and rabbits are etc... I was hoping that his old game keeper had retired though.. he would have definitely remembered me ?

Here’s some old pictures of some dogs I’ve had when I was younger.

Not bred as coursing dogs, but caught plenty of hares. I suppose when that’s the main quarry on the land, they learn how to hunt and kill them. Plus they get very fit whilst trying .

when your a kid there's no limits to the work you can throw at your dogs?was out every morning with my terriers and at night with the runners.....having a family and work commitments is a pain these d

I’ve got a beddy/whippet now. Just something to do a bit of mouching and ferreting with. I had coursing dogs before that, but I probably ended up doing more lamping than coursing. It’s a dangerous job though, especially with dogs that will take pretty much anything, and after loosing a couple on the lamp, I choose to tone it down a bit, especially with having young kids and the dogs being family pets too.

Cracking pics mate nice to look back at where it all started I was out 24/7 in my younger days I can remember nearly every night of the week lamping then ferreting on the weekends the miles I used to walk with those dogs was crazy I can remember most nights I'd run the poor buggers into the ground they did me proud though looking back now though I'm abit wiser these days I suppose ?

Also when you're younger normally have more time and cash to throw at it. I have to steal time between family and work.

I agree with you on the steel time mate I've got 7 kids and I work 12hours most days but I suppose that makes me enjoy the times I'm out more

Plus no end of energy...

My first little whippet x never left my side, whether he was dragging me around the estate on my skate board or snatching rabbits around bushes...

Unfortunately at our age now, work, mrs, kids take it out of you..lol

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea

Just got this stunning little bitch, nearly 12 months old, Deerhound x Bedie grey.
I used to go out with my dad's Lurchers when I was a kid but I'm a female in my 30's now and struggling to get back into the swing of things.
I'd love to have this girl knocking down bunnies but I just don't know where to start, I've barely seen a rabbit or and other quarry since I moved here.
Any of you experts in my area fancy giving me some advice/practical experience (hunting related only)
