sue 1
i would already have him outside so he can be near the ferrets and get used to them ,you dont want to leave it to long or you might have a accident ,take him along with you as soon as possible ferreting the older dogs will bring him on .he will soon pick it up Quote Link to post
shepp 2,285
Mine was outside in the kennel at six weeks, but it was during summer months. A little heat when it's very cold would be advisable. Quote Link to post

IS THERE OTHER DOGS THERE AS WELL, IF THERE IS MAKE SURE THEY ARE REALLY GOOD WITH HIM, USUALLY A YOUNG DOG WILL KENNELL WITH AN OLDER BITCH, AS LONG AS FED SEPERATE, AS FOR HEATING, IF THERE IS ANOTHER DOG IN WITH IT, THEN THEY WILL SNUGGLE UP AND KEEP EACH OTHER WARM, JUST KEEP AN EYE ON THEM FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS Quote Link to post

leegreen 2,153
any more info would be great.Puppys if not born outside in the winter, they sould either have a heat lamp or some sort of heater or they should be put out in the summer so they have time to acclimatise but they must have some warm bedding straw, paper or I have found barley straw to be the best. He is not outside yet but tomorrow im am going to start feeding him in the kennel and carry this on every day then start leaving him in there for a few hours a day to see what he is like in there. I am going to put a lot of warm bedding in his bed for him. Quote Link to post
rabbit slayer 22
Had my black terrier pup outside in the kennel at 6 weeks, it dont take long for them to get used to it. The longer you keep then in the harder it is to kennel them, just past expierence. Just make sure the kennel is draft free and warm for the pup. Quote Link to post
