They begin to grow their antlers in November, shedding the velvet from them in the spring. By summer, they are ready for the rutting season. levigsp 938
Wow this has opened my eyes! Roe Bucks lose there antlers in November and December depending of age, the shooting season gives that away as bucks finish end October and no one shoots bucks not antlered. Red, Fallow and Sika shed their antlers during April and May and the new growth is complete and cleaned by August/September. Roe, which breed earlier, shed their antlers in November/December and re-grow them over the winter and early spring such that they’re cleaned during April/May. As much as you do try to dig at my dogs on here sometimes mate, you can’t really cos you know what they can do and there wouldn’t be a lot of pups on here that have managed what she has.
