Have you really seen dogs , thrown into trees or stamped on ? I have seen dogs been gouged / kicked  and a few deaths including 2 of mine plenty of times over the years ,but never thrown into trees or stamped on like a video going around Facebook of a moose stamping on sledge dogs this week .We’re talking fallow bucks here and red stags not moose ?    Not being funny here just interested to know , you caught many fallow bucks or red stags ? All preban of course

I coursed a lot of deer over the year, all breeds both day and night.  I have seen sika stags throw dogs a long way using antlers, Ive seen sika hinds smash dogs by butting them same with munties.

I have never seen a dog hurt by a roe, fallow or red. Most deer were caught on the lamp because they run slower on the lamp, bounce of things etc etc. During the day you see the real speed of them, but they are no match for any lurcher in speed.

But deer dogs need to have the brains to time their pull and get it right, too many used to grab what they got to first, and thats hopeless.

Accidents happen! I broke spinal bones with a red deer accident, I had to have knee surgery after a kick from a stag.

Had a few munty buck related slashes to dog's, had a roe buck try to skewer a bitch with its spikes, and think that I had a dog killed by a boot to the head off a fallow. Can be a dangerous and if you do enough you usually meet something that doesn’t go down without a fight!

I've seen a roe buck turn and nut a dog that had it hold below the hock, gave him a few small punctures but nothing serious and also seen two different dogs get slashed by fallow kicking out.

So perhaps I phrased it wrong, as I said after, accidents happen, what i was meaning was deliberate attacks by deer, I have not seen it with roe, fallow or red. I am not saying it hasn't happened, because it must have.

Heard the best way to get yourself a super duper deer dog is to get it out running half grown fawns when they can barely run. ??

no you don’t need to educate a dog for bambi there easy work for a half descent dog

daytime hares every week threw a season is a much harder task
