But then I always think ah well you've got to be in it to win it. I remember when I was young going out with guys that wouldn't fly their birds in the wind. Then one of them accidently let go of his hawk and it was gone down wind like a rocket we spent a long time trying to get it back and he was crapping himself. My belief is that if he had flown his hawk in high wind it would have got fitness and confidence and learnt how to handle it. I think its a great way to get your bird fit and after all its natural. 3 Quote Link to post

I must admit I wouldn't be so blasé without this GPS system. I know that I've already said it but it's a game changer and I would say a must for anyone flying a pursuit falcon. 2 Quote Link to post

Moorman 1 1,325
Had a mate out with a broken leg so he couldn't go far from the truck. It worked out well, a nice slip where the bird had to make up some ground, gained height and picked her target. She then climbed nicely, put some pressure on, and took it in style with a nice high mid air bind right in front of us. I forgot to record the flight on the app. Kill 40 in the bag! 5 Quote Link to post

Moorman 1 1,325
Had a bit of a caper in the week where she nailed a game cock, managed to get her off it for another flight. Where I had a track down and found her plucking her crow. Today she had a cracking flight in very high wind and took a gull, kill 44. 2 Quote Link to post

ADN-EA-15 12
Probably a daft question moorman but in several of the full pics there’s and ivory coloured handle, is that a knife or something similar? Interesting thread though keep it up Quote Link to post

Interesting thread though keep it up Its just a tethering spike. I use it to secure the quarry to the ground (obviously when it's dead) to stop the bird from carrying it and to attach her swivel and leash to it so that if something startled her she couldn't fly off with it. 2 Quote Link to post
