I wouldn’t have thought fat would get into the system like that bill, the dog I got now had problems with muscles cramping up after a handful of continuous runs which I expect is brought on by the muscles getting fatigue. Spoke to the vets they wanted to do all the usual shit that would cost lots of money, blood tests and other different examinations. Asked about it on this forum and turns out half a teaspoon of bicarbonate over his food daily cured the problem.

my dog was having the same problems with cramp trigger.he would start screaming while looking at his back thigh's

fuji on here recommended tinned tomatoes mixed in his food a few times a week.

its the potasium level being low.

i buy the whole plum tomatoes in a tin.not the allready chopped as i think they are all the scraps of tomatoes gathered up and put in the tin.

the dogs never had cramp since...

What happens if you have a low potassium level?
In hypokalemia, the level of potassium in blood is too low. A low potassium level has many causes but usually results from vomiting, diarrhea, adrenal gland disorders, or use of diuretics. A low potassium level can make muscles feel weak, cramp, twitch, or even become paralyzed, and abnormal heart rhythms may develop.

Exactly what my dog was doing mate. Socks put me onto the bicarbonate thing, a tub last longer than a tin of tomatoes

spot on.my dog is a fussy eater.but loves the tomatoes maybe he knows the benefit from them.like a pregnant woman craving certain food's im quite sure thats it.

have thought about it before.

Why do you crave certain foods when pregnant?
It seems logical that cravings might be due to something lacking in the diet, or an increased need for certain vitamins and minerals. ... Food cravings and sudden food aversions may have something to with the effects of pregnancy hormones, which can change the way some foods taste and smell.

Totally different than cramps. Atb bill

The key to this problem is two fold ,all my whippets including crosses along with my two greyhound whippets are fussy eaters .The first thing Id do is get a coat for her &  next Id up the fat content of her food ,this can be a problem as most don't like the fat but I sneak it in but mixing it up after mixing and feeding it warm .

Morning, taken a step back from quad bikes and hounds - Don’t need the grief anymore. Having moved house my country has changed, curious of those that do hunt the hills with their lurches and a terrier at your heel, how do you bring them on? Getting the right dog for the job is no brainier but what about the training? Thanks.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect
