452varmint 1
I have a Sako Finnfire Range, (Mk1 version) gathering dust and im thinking about setting it up for longer range targets, (200 yds being the goal). I have a set of FX No Limit rings on the way to give me plenty of adjustment and have an old high mag Leupold to get started with. From what i can find online Im expecting from a 50yd zero to have about 55" of drop at 200yds. Anybody tried .22LR at longer distances ? Quote Link to post

Sausagedog 7,381
200 yds is not out the way for 22 but it's the wind more than drop that will mess it up for you. Half decent target ammo shows up hunting ammo at those distances. 3 Quote Link to post

Alsone 789
No reason not to take paper at long ranges. If considering game, limit it to birds. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I commonly use .22lr at 200 at Bisley, it can give some decent results, but as mentioned above its a nightmare to judge in the wind and if its gusty probably not worth bothering. Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
Ok so it's not windy so thought I would give it a go. Two turns up on the turret. 6"X10" target. 30 shots including spotting shots for elevation and ten on target. Not to bad for an auto with not too fine a trigger and off hand. 3 Quote Link to post
TheShootingTog 2,256
i was shooting eley hollow point .22lr at 200m a couple of weeks ago. I was shooting at a metal gong about 8in square, i could hit it probably 50% of the shots I took at it. Good fun, but would not like to shoot anything other than paper or steel at that range with .22lr Quote Link to post

Thats some shooting of hand, I was using a bipod when I was shooting. 1 Quote Link to post
