on about stopping bleeding anyone remember the sterzac powder they used to put on babies umbilical cords to dry them out , I used that on myself and kids to stop bleeding and on dogs , only three tin out couple of years ago that I got from my nans place when we emptied it out, they stopped making it years ago though .?

You can still get it, Johnson's wound powder.

Pretty much it. I take some surgical gloves too. Twice in 5 years I reckon I have saved my dog from severe bleeds. Without having it on me there and then he would have bled out. Rarely leave home without one now.

Always a good topic. I can be pretty far from my truck let alone help so I carry a couple items to stop severe bleeding: quik klot, and a kerlix bandage. I also have a couple plastic staplers and needle nose pliers for porcupine quills. I've yet to have to carry a dog out or worse leave one behind.

Oh, I also carry a little whisky and a few cigars. Just in case I need them.
