Hi asking for a mate anyone know what type of wood bakail over and under shot gun made with he's bought an old one and stripped it back to bare wood I think it's walnut but not sure also what type of wood stain treatment can he use to colour it again to clean it up any replies appreciated

Baikal use beech for their stocks and occasionally walnut.

Thanks for that Walshie think its walnut myself he's got it stripped right back to bare wood and he's going to stain it and tidy it up give it a coat of tru oil and tart it up a bit

I was always told that Baikal made their stocks from old trans Siberian railway sleepers.

They are not known for quality wood, but if it has been stripped to bare wood surely you can tell if its beech or walnut!?

Some are birch but I think that's only on some singles.
