The way I’ve said I’d breed is a working type bred from workers to be workers a dog that actually looks what it’s meant to be it was just my opinion of how I’d do things if it was me breeding them (I’m never going to breed bedlington whippets) so it’s all hypothetical speaking I mean you could go An pick a whippet up doing the same job I’m just in the opinion if your going to have a bedlington x whippet it’s got to be a rough coated one 

so is what your saying katch is your the same as the rest of us on the hunting life ffs

Blacky, how did he know the best working ones of em were smooth coated, did he keep all the pups he bred, and work them all enough to determine which ones were the best?

would say most on here don't care about looks or coat work comes before everything. all mine have been rough coated that's just the way things have worked out. my next one I am looking to breed my own this will be my first litter of pup's I have bred. have to see what she throws but I am looking for a smooth one this time.

Thought it might've been the extra 'camouflage' the coat attracts lol . 

Also, and I don't want to incur beddy x owners wrath here, but personally I've only ever seen two beddy x's with a broken/rough coat that I would class as properly 'functionable'. All the other ones I've seen have had terrible thin useless coats, that easily let in wet, even though they were rough/broken

this one has a good coat. it's thick doesn't let much water in. unfortunately stuff sticks to it like spunk to a priests beard.

Wasn’t to long ago you were saying a smooth coat would be no good to you fred being a bushing man an the coat protects against stings thorns and skin ripping like paper an the alike when bushing now your saying you want a smooth coat make ya mind up fella lol

no if you look back I said I have never seen a straight whippet work cover like a bedlington whippet. nothing to do with coat. I have worked with smooth coated Russell's that smashed cover so coat is not a issue with me.
