Rape stubble shooting.

Met up with Stuart at 1030 this morning and as it was raining we had a look round till it stopped.We chose where we were going to shoot and so we flagged off a couple of fields to deter the pigeons.We pushed a couple of bales together to shelter out of the wind and set up in front of them.We shot till 1800 hrs and ended the day with 158 woodpigeon and 20 ferals.Some more good days to be had there as a good number of pigeons about.

A good number of pigeons here but spread out over the fields that have been cut.

Nice days bag.  Haven't seen any cut down here yet.  It might be worth checking the dogs feet for cuts. The stubble is very sharp and sometimes cuts don't show in a limp or anything. Sometimes the only showing is the dog licking it's foot.

All the rape cut on this farm.The barley will be cut as soon as there is a bit of decent dry weather.

We are very fit and keep jumping up to look over the bales.Kept falling off the step ladder when we took a shot.

Got a new permission today on a large mixed arable and dairy farm.Just been looking round today as they want me to concentrate on the crows first and loads there.Large buildings with ferals in so a job on dark nights with the air rifle.

Cheers David you do get some good footage with the shotkam.Might get round to sticking some on sometime.
