DMQ, the consortium behind the DSC are apparently going to introduce a Wild Boar qualification.

Personally this pisses me off, the whole DSC is little more than a commercial money generating exercise, and just where has it ever been established that we need a piece of paper to shoot Boar.

I have never found or heard of any problem in the UK with anyone in any situation causing issues or experiencing problems dealing with Boar.

This is simply a cynical money generating load of tosh!

Fed up to the back teeth of our professional bodies making hay and cash cows out of their members.

There is no justifiable reason for this given the statement by Deker:

"  I have never found or heard of any problem in the UK with anyone in any situation causing issues or experiencing problems dealing with Boar ".

 What is their reasoning?

Yep, I quit stalking when I was suddenly asked for pieces of paper.

It all started from the unjust handgun ban. Suddenly the handgunners had cash and variations for rifles and decided to try stalking deer.

Most of them thought passing exams was all they needed but when most realised it's actually hard work they disappeared.

So now we have an over population of deer and a declining number of stalkers!

Exams will never replace what some one loves to do from the heart, it just produces experts and you all know what I think of experts!

Now I know many did the exams because they loved their sport and or service to deer conservation but they have been taken for a ride which is shameful in my opinion and no fault of theirs.

Political correctness is destroying any genuine honest hearted individual sincere activity remotely associated with hunting.

I’ve never got involved with DSC , I’ve not had to because I’ve got all the deer shooting I want with my job . It’s a voluntary thing , if you want to go on a course you can , if you don’t , then don’t . A friend of mine is very involved with it and is up to deer manager level , whatever that means. He’s got a lot out of it , it teaches people best practice and a lot about the deer . Everyone I know who has done level 1 or two has said they enjoyed it and learnt a lot . We can’t all be gamekeepers and pest controllers and deer managers . I would have thought it’s s good thing . It’s certainly not compulsory to go on the course . I know a lot of the lads shooting boar in the Forest of Dean won’t be doing the course . They know more about shooting boar than any of the blackboard jockeys teaching those  courses.
