M0SAD 89
Bought this on thursday and had to take it to the range on friday. Using Seller & Belliot 100gr Training rounds and zeroed at 100 yds. Sub 1" MOA and two shots to zero...pretty impressed with this rifle. Has a 1 in 10 twist rate so was told by the guy at the gun shop to put 80gr through it, for better performance. Shooting as it is already i'm not too concerned, but they're worth giving it a go aren't they? Any suggestions people? 6 Quote Link to post
Stavross 15,876
There’s some nice new hardware on here over the past couple of days and all in my favourite calibre, enjoy it fella, have you got any quarry in mind for it, deer/fox ? 2 Quote Link to post

Fox in the short term Stavross, hopefully some deer in the future.....only put about 20 rounds through it yesterday and by heck....243 is a very destructive round given it's size. Vaporises everything it hits practically. 1 Quote Link to post

A lot going composite too man. Think with the modern composite now and the easyness of care more and more are going this route rather than wood. I do like a wood stock but modern plastics now are sooooo easy Cracking bit of kit too MOSAD, enjoy 2 1 Quote Link to post

My mindset around the composite stock was the durability out in the field in adverse weather conditions...as and when that becomes an issue of course 3 Quote Link to post

M0SAD 89
I've heard good things about the Browning A-Bolt3's mate. There is a rumour locally of a Remington 700 receiver with an AI barrel attached lovingly wearing a Tier One stock....that piqued my interest Edited July 27, 2019 by M0SAD 1 Quote Link to post
Stavross 15,876
Have a look at the Sako 70 grain ballistic tip for the fox, nothing runs off when hit with them, there’s also 90’s and 100’s SP gamehead for bambi, for me plastic is always the way to go, nice wood belongs on a shotgun 3 2 Quote Link to post

shovel leaner 7,650
Hope you enjoy it Mosad . Welcome to the new gun owners club . I was surprised to see that you haven’t gone down the military style route ? Perhaps you are on a mission where you need to blend in with the civilian population. Anyway the rifle looks good and is grouping well for you . Let us know how you get on with the 80grn . I haven’t forgotten that I owe you a hobnob , don’t want to disappoint you but I’ve only got the Lidle tower gate brand “ Oaties” , times are hard in the Leaner house at the moment, the shopping budget has been cut to spend on Tikka rifles . ATB Oaties are good lmao...i figured not trying to look like Rambo or a frustrated commando might be the better option in the long run. I will try some 80grn for sure when im next out with it and will report in accordingly. 1 Quote Link to post

I think the 1500's are great rifles and have ordered the Magazine kit for mine too. Enjoy your new rifle Nick 1 Quote Link to post
