Said to someone other day if ya can jack it you never had the bug in first place.  If your one of those that walks a field thinking of better places to be then the game aint for you.

I know what you mean, but if you got the bug years back its easy to tire, and let the game run free, the vermin are changing, the rules change.i wish i could carry on,really

No the ban will never be over turned but it doesn't have to stop you doing something you have always done just don't get caught

99% of the lads that are at the terrier and lurcher game in their teens soon lose interest and move on in life, but for some it is a way of life and no other life will do!

I’m not sure what it is that grips hold, but it must be from deep within the ‘hunting’ gene still being strong.

My Mam always says if she knew how deep I’d get myself with dogs she would have never let me have one as a kid ?

But at the same time, most of the lads I grew up with have gotten themselves onto a different and wrong path, so maybe being out in the fields ain’t such a bad thing?

I found the desire for the kill has diminished, my dogs were primarily lamp dogs and working with the terriers. All about catching as much as possible. I enjoy mooching more these days, watching the whippet hunt up and find. The kill is secondary.

So true in fact I often pray my dog doesn't find any thing. But it's not just the lurcher work. Walking the lanes with a sneaky stop net in ya pocket.

Or just having wander

A bit of company in the hide

We love just being out there doing what ever it don't matter. If you have a nice quiet hound well disciplined it must be a complete joy. Unfortunately mooching with my dog is a bit like mooching with a sherman tank ?

But we don't care

only ever had permission for digging and ferretting,so done my fair share of fence hopping?.....last few yrs go out with a good lad who got loads for lamping.....take all night to do 1 farm.....drive the land with no damage....there's hundreds of thousands of  pounds worth of plant machines etc lying around, quads 4x4 trucks ...fuel bowsers etc.never once has it crossed my mind or anyone I bother with to rob a landowner that's given us his/her trust....if they want stuff left then it's left...they ask for something to be removed then it's gone.....have been out when the keeper has called with idiots on the land and we have helped apprehend them........if they that f***ing thick, you deserve all you get rocking up on keepered estates thinking you can do as you please in my book....problem is everyone gets tarred with the same brush?

there you go again anybody who wants to catch rabbits will empty your diesel tank and take a hilux and jcb bucket. wake up to the fact that it's the same cnuts that burgle houses and steal in towns are doing it to you in the countryside. Real dog lads and poachers won't cause any problems.
