Popular Post Stoney100 1,179
Few of you might remember my old bedo/grey x saluki/grey from over the years on here.....she lives at my parents house and comes to mine whenever they go away in the caravan now as she doesn’t like the long journeys in the car, last time I had her I ran her up the vets for a check over and turns out she is 18 next April which is a good age! I’ve had her since I was 18 and I probably learned more about dogs and hunting with her than any other dog I’ll ever own! Countless miles day and night, good Lamper and ferreting dog and not bad on hares in the day either back when it was legal to course them, never really to keen on foxes but I never brought her for that so never been an issue to me. I’d give anything to see her run again but unfortunately her days of going out are long gone but she is still happy enough and goes out with my dad twice a day then just literally sleeps for hour after hour lol this is her now with my youngest busher vet was impressed how she’s still so switched on at her age and said she should see 20 easy enough and while she’s happy she’s more than earned her retirement! Anyone got or had an older dog?? Edited July 18, 2019 by Stoney100

Strange seeing the difference in the 2 pictures never noticed him getting old or thin always seemed like my same old pal from the first to the last day It’s the worst part about dogs ain’t it mate, we buy them as a noisey little ball of piss and shit yet they end up your best mate like you say

dytkos 17,804
Had to have my old Russell pts 3 weeks shy of 16, kidneys going but he was still pretty active, started to have the odd fit and as we we were both out during the day thought it was the kindest thing, shame they get old, my 3 dogs now are 12, 10 and 8, new blood needed soon. Cheers, D.
gnasher16 30,220
An old bulldog i was close to is still kicking about in Cyprus aged 14 i saw him a few weeks ago and realised its a miracle really as he had hardly any teeth since the age of about 3.....must admit his breath was none too clever .....never heard many dogs live to 18 though fair play.
Stoney100 1,179
Had the old girl put to sleep today Although I’ve known for a few weeks it was coming it’s still knocked me about more than I thought it would, had her so long she became part of the furniture! Didn’t quite get to 18 but her back legs were going and she was struggling to get up out her bed so she’s at peace now......was a brilliant mooching dog and one that I’ve had many happy miles out and about with.....RIP misty 8 2
