Recommended as hare dogs IF you get a good one. Saluki like, LONG feet, selective hearing, sweet pets. The arabs brought salukis into Spain and the Celts had their greyhound type so its maybe a mix. Good ones are very sound, they don't damage or don't get sick.

Spain is harsh on dogs, only the good ones stay alive more or less. Coursing is pretty popular and there are a lot of these around. Rescue centers are full of them.

I HAVE THEM ON DVD COURSING IN SPAIN , LIKE EVRYONE SAID THEY SEEM TO HAVE MORE STAMINAR THAN OUR GREYHOUNDS.

EVRY BODY SEEMS TO THINK THEY ARE SMALL , BUT ON THE FILM THEY LOOK ABOUT 25" WITH A LIGHTER BUILD

AT THE BEGINING OF THE FILM THEY ARE ALL LINED UP AND 1 OF THEM LOOKS LIKE A MERLE. THERE IS ALSO A TAME HARE RUNNING ON A COUNTER IN A GUN SHOP, WHILST A GUY TALKS TO THE CAMERA. :)

Don't they kill ( hang them) them after a season because they start running clever. They do have a lot more stamina than greyhounds, they don't start to judge them until a minute after the course starts.

i dont think they are any better but they breed quite typy and the ones i saw were 25 to 27 and powerful they would do the job but well its all up to the guy that runs them, but the one i saw last season would put hares and deer in the bag before the ban ,very nice dog ,but you would need to get them from slected working lines as there alot of showy things to that are nice but maybe wanting when it gets pushed etc ill be seeing some shortly so weel see adios

If the dog has run well that season they hang em high so they die quicker if they are crap they hang em low so it's a longer process  .

The galgo is a good dog, a lot more inteligent than the greyhound too. The ones that come to england are the rescue ones and dont know of another rescue that home dog's to working homes  .

The rescues get a lot of help in spain and the dog's get imported all over the world. Wish i had that amount of help for our dog's.
