comanche 3,077
Shepherd's bullace and parasols;Autumn is definately here! And a horshoe which apparently can be re-used. The horses seemed to go out of there way to break any mushrooms I had earmarked for later. They they have just been moved to another field and now there are loads of erupting field and parasol mushrooms . Tomorrow I shall strike! The main thing there is no yellowing on the Cap or on the stalk. The Yellow stainer is the one that gets confused with the Field Mushroom and the Horse Mushroom mate. They smell of Indian ink or of Chemicals Cheers Arry Edited October 15, 2019 by Arry
Arry 22,575
The Yellow Stainer. I have put photos of these up before, but see how close they are to the Field Mushrooms and Horse Mushrooms. If scratched around the outside of the cap or at the base of the stalk they go bright yellow. BUT yellow fadeaway after a while. They smell like Indian ink or chemical like. trapperman 474
I cut them and they were fine they only smell sort of mushroomy but when I scraped the cap they go yellow so no good I assume this mushroom hunting is hard I’d be dead by now if I was just winging it
