Sausagedog 7,381
Got me a moded 410 Friday. It is a Baikal with a stock repair and quite frankly it's a bad repair! It needs another stock. I see them on eBay but have no idea how inter changeable they are! They are over priced articles but I like it. It is very quiet indeed. I bets with some of my reloads I could use it in the garden! It is quite heavy I must add too! Anyone fiddled with Baikal stocks? Are they interchangable? Anyway here is a photo, oh and numb nuts, I disturbed an afternoon love session I think! 4 Quote Link to post

Alsone 789
Depending on what they glued it with, it will never come apart. Just for informationla purposes in case you need to re-glue it or anyone else does: I've used Cascamite in the past, and it's been so strong that pulling wood apart actually tears the fibres away from the heart on one of the pieces. The glue doesn't debond at all! https://www.axminster.co.uk/cascamite-powdered-resin-wood-glue-ax21688 I'd put money on you breaking another part of your stock than getting a joint with that apart. When I've used it, I've pretty much ignored the instructions and just made a thick paste. The only one claimed to be stronger accoridng to that websites data table is polyproof: https://www.axminster.co.uk/polyproof-fully-waterproof-glue-400014 Somehow having experience Cascamite I can't imagine it. I bonded the handle back onto the shaft of a garden shovel where the shaft had split and torn part for about 4 inches. That was about 20 years ago and I'm still digging heavy soil with it today! 1 Quote Link to post

Meece 1,957
It's a gun. It's a cheap Baikal. The repair is a bit agricultural but If it goes bang and you can shoot with it, what's it matter. I've seen blokes with very expensive guns that can't hit a barn door from 10 yards. Sausagedog 7,381
So, I been fiddling. Got the wood looking better even if it is knackered! Also been developing a garden load. Using a small amount of green dot and a tiny 7g of shot it is garden quiet! No one heard a thing. The next squirrel scratching at my nuts is in for a surprise! That two shots on the card at 25yards. 20 I consider a max distance. Green dot is way to fast for normal 410 loads so do use it for that! You been warned!! It makes a lot of pressure QUICKLY. To QuiCK for normal 410 loads. I have sign of good pressure via flattened primer cups and good velocity. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE AND NO CHARGE WEIGHTS WILL BE GIVEN. USING TO FAST A NITRO RESULTS IN SUDDEN AND DRAMATIC PRESSURE SPIKES, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AND DONT ASK HOW I KNOW! 2 Quote Link to post

Might be just as easy using an air rifle on the squirrels, lot less hassle Quote Link to post
Elchapo 3,167
I have the same gun and I use it more than anything else I love walking through the woods with it with the spaniel nocking huts out of cover , as for the stock . Remove the but cap there is a nut you’ll need a long socket , undo it and it slides off and slide replacement straight on and replace but 1 Quote Link to post

No idea buddy. I bought thousands of primers yonks ago. The powders I have are from my loading 357 days. The wads for the above load are kitchen towel, just don't tell the Mrs. Edited June 30, 2019 by Sausagedog Quote Link to post
