well after shooting like a muppet for a while my form is comming good again.pratice as they say is what pays off.shooting the .357 henry is more and more fun every outing and my confidence is growing.my average i gave for the comp not that long ago was 173 ex 200 now it is more like 180 ex 200.todays eforts resulting in two 181,s and a 185.very happy and not too bad shooting on 6x mag and the target at 50m looking about the size of a 1pence coin

I was out earlier just testing some loads, wasn't too bad actually at 200 yards. Top left 125gn Spitzer H335 47gn x 3, Bottom left 150gn Spitzer N140 44.5gn x 10, and right side 150gn FMJ N140 44.5gn. I'm still testing and wasn't that comfortable prone, so like you say practice practice practice

Looks good to me, if that had been my attempt it would look like i'd shot it with 00 buck at 100m. Keep trying house loads at the club using the club gun and a peep sight...but no real luck. Got a slot for a .357 lever action on my FAC, but i can see that becoming a variation for something i can actually shoot, like a .308 or 6.5 creedmoor blunderbuss : )

Aye sorry mine are all .308 loads, I was trying not to hit another chrono too, avg speeds were in order 3100fps, 2700 fps and 3750fps.

I'm sure with more practice no chrono and no heather in my face I could improve

yes i have a vortex 1-8x24 strike eagle but when shooting standing with the u/lever too little mag is better than too much.the bull is 1" and the ten ring is 2" for reference

Sounds like a nice set up you have there pal

I'm actually terrible at standing shooting these days even with sticks, if I canny go prone or kneeling its nothing at all if I'm on quarry.

Looking at the cluster low and left I would hazard a guess that is pulling the shot.

well after lots of practice and doing my first comp in a lot of years and having the trigger lightened and polished things have improved.last week i shot my last two cards for the comp and got a 184 on the practice card and a 185 then a 187 very happy with that.today i had another go and realised my scores would now be better.best card at 50m standing was a 191 ex 200 to say i am pleased is an understatment

thank you shame about the first shot being a 7.things now comming good with me and the gun.never before have i concentrated 110% as i did.sounds stupid i know not to put maximum effort into each shot but that was everything i had

Having a good trigger is paramount. I will fiddle with a trigger for months until I'm happy.
