bucknut 1
My border bitch is two and a half, she is having her first litter due on the 9th of this month. She is massive and started to go wider now her undercaraige has dropped a bit. Books ive read give different advice, one said they can deliver early up to a week another said 4 days either side? Is there any experienced border terrier people out there that can give me any info? Many Thanks Buck Edited January 5, 2008 by bucknut

ghostlyease 17
Any news on pups, start to take temperature a week before pups are due, temp will start to drop 24 hours or so before pups put in an appearance. I have had pups born 5 -6 days early, have to keep on your toes, lol
scouse moocher 0
How did you get on mate? As people have said some bitches will always go a few days before or over when in pup. With this being her first litter i imagine your more anxious! As said before monitor her temperature as this can be a good indication of when shes going to pop. Also all the signs you will of read in the books, restlessness, scratching and re-arrangement of newspapers or blankets and general nesting and going off her food ( a few hours before she whelps) That being said nothings ever textbook with breeding ive had a bitch eat a full bowl of food with gusto and 10 minutes later start dropping pups. Best of luck with em' keep us posted. Ant
