grandfathers onld boat road

hi guys first time posting in this forum , i have been given my grandfathers old boat rod its older than me so its 40 plus years old , i have a couple of question 

 

1 , for sentimental reasons would it be worth getting it reconditioned ,new eyes and an all over service 

2, can anyone recommend anywhere in scotland to do the work ,

for sentimental reasons only you can decide that, try to re-con it yourself it's not that difficult, and if it goes wrong get somebody else to put it right for you

The chances are it will be absolutely crap to use. Polish it up, stick it on the wall and even £30 will buy you a boat rod that will be a thousand times better to use.

Any info on it mate ie Any writing or it Make or Test curve. Put up a picture some body might recognise it. Even 40 years ago there were some good rods " Ugly Sticks" were around about then.
