Good grief... have we got to be so PC , that I can’t light heartedly refer to people who I disagree with as Badger f@ckers , for fear that a vegetarian or Vegan or hunt saboteur might read my post . I can just see them now recoiling in horror as their delicate sensibilities have been violated by my trashy banter . I may also have implied in previous posts that I would carry on regardless, not the case , I’m a law abiding person ( most shooters are) and have applied for my licenses and am back at it . I’m off now to wash my mouth out with a bar of soap.

Whichever way you want to look at it, posting comments and pics they basically say f**k the GL I'm carrying on regardless (on ANY forum) isn't helping anyone here as walshie said!

A point that doesn't appear to have got through to a number of people.

PS

Packham and the Dog show simple shows he is far more media savvy than most!

The original post has gone slightly off subject, ie: no mention of the GL, but again I agree with you D ?

Agree, that's why I added the PS, meant to be a bit light hearted but perhaps a bit to subtle for me!

I don't think anyone would argue with that, we all do it.    The issue, as I see it, is nothing to do with being PC, it's to do with not flaunting the fact some appear to suggest breaking the Law is fine!

We live in a very electronic age, EVERY email and Text we send is monitored (very likely tweets, etc etc etc as well) and the authorities are always on Forums such as THL, ask Underdog!

It makes no sense to give the authorities more negative ammunition, indeed forums such as these should be used as a window to show our moderation, sense, country attitude, professionalism and moral compass!

I am not for one second suggesting we go round kissing arse, but it may be a good idea if we stopped trying to commit suicide!

EDIT Another PS

Sorry Longshanx, oh how threads wonder sometimes (often).

? They always do? always makes for good reading though. That was my point earlier, everyone on here has the right to an option, (may be contradicting my myself there?), some may agree or disagree with what that post is about but that's what forums are for, some light hearted debate. ? Again within reason and within inside the Law.

Apologies if I kicked over anyones piss bucket yesterday, I was trying to get a point across but I was in a foul mood and should have kept quiet until today.

My sentiment was right but the temper was wrong. I should have chosen my words a bit more carefully.

Tim

You and Deker both made valid points, which I and maybe others have taken on board, but you did it in a way that could get someone’s back up . When I read it I felt like I was back at school and the teacher had just walked in and caught me drawing a pair of tits on the blackboard.

Don't worry about it TT, I wasn't in the the best of moods either?, I do get were you are coming from and its a subject that's got everyone up in arms, at least you vented it off. Let's just hope this shambles gets resolved soon.

?, nope all civilised people on here walshie?

I try to not say anything on here that I wouldn’t say to someone’s face . I come on here to read and share hunting/ shooting experiences. Info , maybe learn something which I often do , with other like minded people. I try to keep it light hearted. I am well aware that our detractors read our posts , and a part of me wants to stick my middle finger ?? up at them . So if you are malnourished vegetarian lefty animal rights activist , ask yourself this , what has Chris Packham achieved ? Nothing !!! The people who control avian pests will still be controlling them . All he has achieved is to make a lot more paperwork and wasted a lot of time and taxpayers money. You can now stop reading this post and go back to Peter rabbit world and cuddle a bunny or interfere with a badger , whichever is your preference.

All my years shooting I have never heard of shooting folk threatening vegans and bunny huggers, not even veggies or the love a crow club members.

I have however seen anti blood sports folk brandish clubs and sticks. Damage private property and vehicles.

I have also known of a hit and run incident of an innocent motorcyclist during a legal badger cull by activists attempting to disrupt proceedings.

I have never seen any anti blood sport activist actually monitoring meadow pipet numbers or skylarks. Oddly though I know several shooting men that notice their numbers rise after intensive fox shooting!

I don't see animal activists harresing the government officials that let rabbit VHD into the land, or the Verroa mite!

Maybe if those that like Packham and his friends stopped trying to control peoples thoughts and speech and spent more time studying the needs of vunerabal species they may come to a more balanced opinion on the correct forward looking decisions!

I heard Packham say "we don't need people shooting crows for fun" ( or something like that). It's not done for their benefit. It is done for the benefit of other more vunerabal wildlife. There is a clear overpopulation of corvids on these islands and in itself is harmful to other wildlife in our care.

The real issue when it comes down to doing things illegally "for fun" is when human beings enjoy harming other human beings by considering themselves superior to everyone else!

I took this picture yesterday in my garden.

DSC04130.JPG.35dbb11a6b47a3f9378f6fe1f448faa7.JPG

It's a doe getting nesting material.

This morning I had the joy of watching pheasant chicks run across my garden.

Arnt I lucky!

Hell no. I sent countless hours chasing fox's in winter keeping the local population to a sustainable level.

Others locally do like wise and I salute them.

The crows and magpies have been shot, caught and harased.

The chicks I saw this morning is proof positive I am right. Not Packham and I don't need a piece of paper I would not wipe my arse with to make it right.

So Mr and Mrs Anti go stick your ill informed self righteous smug opinion where the sun don't shine.
