Keaner 97
Can anyone recommend a good parallax scope for a 223? I'm looking at either a Nikon monarch 3 or a vortex diamond back hp. Any other suggestions?
Stavross 15,358
It comes down to money, I have a vortex viper HS-T 6-24x50 on my .243 and the quality of the glass is second to none, this scope will set you back around £
Keaner 97
Do the vortex scopes hold there zero well from knocks and bumps etc?
Stavross 15,358
Yes mate, all my rifles are tools to do a job and get treated as such, the vortex scopes also come with lifetime warranty, no need to fill a warranty form out, if there’s a problem just contact them and send them the scope if they can’t fix it they send you a new one, I don’t know any other manufacturer that does that
Stavross 15,358
I’ve just seen your post in the night vision section, if you are wanting to use a pard ad-on then you need a lower quality scope, the coating on the glass on the vortex gives you a hazier view than a cheaper glass, I know someone that uses the pard on a MTC scope and it works very well
Keaner 97
Cheers for both bits of advise stavross
delswal 3,819
Totally agree with stavross, I have 2 vortex scopes 1 on a .222 and the other on a 6.5x55 both hold zero perfectly and return to zero perfectly, with a warranty second to none I personally would not purchase any other scope regarding value for money
Keaner 97
Sounds like vortex is the way to go then. Have you tried a pard 007 with your vortex stavross?
Stavross 15,358
Yes, I was wanting one for the .243, I didn’t get one in the end as the image wasn’t the clearest and I would of thought it would be worse in darkness, I’ve looked through one fitted to an MTC scope and the image was Chrystal clear
David.evans 5,323
Stav what MTC did you look thro with the pard , just thinking of changing my winder atb
Stavross 15,358
It was an old MTC viper, 6-24x50
Keaner 97
Can you lads recommend a good parallax scope that's got a 25mm tube and 40mm objective Otherwise it's gonna start getting expensive again if I gonna change rings aswell
Stavross 15,358
This is a little cracker, the glass isn’t as high quality as what’s in mine ( not coated the same ) so it should be ok with the pard, if you have the time go on uttings web site, the have a very big selection of scopes

Keaner 97
Yeh I've been looking at that diamond back range. Stuck between that one or the Nikon monarch 3. Think il give that vortex a try. Didn't realise it was different glass
