Guest Lord B
Bad luck They are crazy, I have a b&w one as part of my gang. THE MOST HANDSOME DOG IN THE WORLD. Thick as pig $hit though! Pick up any good spanial book, they are very active dogs, and a lot of the skills needed will come easily, they just have it in them, but as with all spaniel breeds they need to be taught control, and kept control of...... My best advise it to read a good spanel specific book, plenty out there and take it nice and slowly, don't rush it, and don't try and get him out 'till his second season at least. I've got a house full of spaniels (and one or two other breeds)........if you need to know any more, PM me. Quote Link to post
pot shot 0
hi, im new on here but have 2 sprockers, one 4 years and one 12 months, both are fantastic, get the basics right from a very early age ie sitting when told (i always tel mine to "get on" when they are allowed to move) and waiting (for food) i find these are a great base for the rest of the training, good luck. shotup 9
ive a two year old dog and he,s a cracking worker lots of drive but like someones said let them be pups and install the basics.break em to stock young as well. mine will work of pegg and also beat but needs controling as he,s strong headed. good finder sometimes a little fast and love retrieveing. got him as a rescue last year as he,s had four homes since birth but would be worth over a grand now looking at the price some gundog trainers now charge.he,s not for sale though.id have another if the chance comes.
