poacherH 0
i have the same problem with mine, was out lamping last night and lost a rabbit as the connection came undone , ive found that it can help holding the connections tight and then putting electrical tape around them prior to lamping. Guest JohnGalway
Maty J is right, you need to ditch the bad components or they'll just keep going on you, it's no good getting the original parts replaced with the same. I ditched the ciggie connectors, the fuse and holder, the battery to charger/battery to lamp connectors (all the above melted) and the switch (which I replaced with an inline dimmer switch unit - I only use scope mounted models). Once you have that lot sorted out, you won't have any more problems. I either soldered wires together, or used eyes and bolts to make connections, never had any problems but I would have gone for Maty J's type connectors if I could have found them at the time. maty j 6
both shops sell them mat. b and q do the duraplug but maplins are pritty much the same but with a hard plastic finish and a quid or so less rather than the hard rubber type on duraplug which are about 4-5 quid! the duraplug hold much tighter but theres nothing wrong with the others either. Guest dotty
hi all my lamp and battery kit are playing up the shite connecters they come with must not be connecting right and the lamp keeps on flicking on and off every time i move it and most of the time its when my dog is running which is geting me very annoyed just wondering if anyone as done away with said shite connectors and if so how and what do you use? many thanks mat p this happened to me. check the wiring just below the handle of the lamp. if you store your lamp in the box and you bend the wire to get it in. it brakes inside the cable. if you push it together and it turns on then you'll see where the fault is. this is what happened to mine. Cheshire Poacher 6
Light force lamps are ok when they are working but you will get all sorts of problems with them once they strat plying up and they will. Almost all the lads i know who have this range of lamps and kit they all deffernetly start playing up sooner rather than later Quote Link to post
mat p 0
the fact ive got to change them at all as done my head in its not really good enough for an £100+ lamp is it im sure if a lamp company designed a lamp with only hunting in mind or even fiel tested there products they would see that these componants arnt up to the job but ill get them dura plug things maty recomends and then it should be happy days again! until something else goes wrong!
