I spoke to the guy who owns Tyson at the Midland and he didn't seem to have the first clue about terrier work.

Nuv is that a pic of Tyson in your post or is that one of your dogs?

Lets face it, true working borders are few and far between. I would say the vast majority of people who own them have them as ratting/rabbiting/bushing dogs, pets, show dogs or money makers, or even a bit of all the above rolled into one if they are honest

Don't read Plummer. That's my stud dog, Taff; I'm truly humbled that he could even be mentioned in the same breath as Tyson. He's nine year old and still going strong. I'm not breeding for a while but Tuffty has had a bitch I bred and he's pleased with her. She's with a hunt pack at the moment.

She went to him for free, KC registered.

My interest is in the breed.

I think perhaps youve taken my question the wrong way?

Your post was about Tyson, then underneath your post there is a pic of a border terrier. I asked if it was one of yours or a pic of Tyson because youd been talking about the dog and it was unclear to me which dog was in the pic, nothing more or less. If you had said in your post "this is a pic of my stud dog taffy" I wouldnt have needed to ask.

Hope that clears up any confusion

i have a bitch she is oxcroft she is coming along fine works the cover and doing ok on the ratting she is 13 mths old, what you have to take into account is that borders take a quite a bit longer to come on than say patterdale terriers and you need a lot of patience but great characters.

Not at all, but I understand the confusion.

The post was actually about Tyson's owner, of whom I said seemed clueless. Not sure how he vets the bitches his extremely good looking dog covers, but the ad in CW seems to be geared toward show owners.

Much of what I read about Borders is recycled Plummeresque myth, but then, Plummer ripped off the experience of others to pass off as his own; maybe the regulation 'notoriously slow to enter' phrase, proffered whenever Borders are mentioned, was somebody else's.

A bitch from my last litter.
