It wasn’t because of the IRA the Black and Tans were in those houses wilf it was because of the British government plain and simple. No British in Ireland no need for the IRA it really is that simple. The blame lies firmly with the British occupation of Ireland.

Wilf, come off it..you're living in Ireland do a bit of research  before you spout that shite...the IRA numbered around 15,000 volunteers....with 3,000 rifles..a few shotguns and pistols....plenty of hurls, sticks and stones.....now Paddies are stupid, but we ain't total dummies.....internment...scorched earth...divide and conquer....vastly superior numbers...colonial super power with superior forces and arms...and you want a friendly battle in a field....

The Flying Columns who numbered around 2,000 were on the run full time.....they faced the Black and Tans and the British army many times.....why were the Black and Tans so reviled in Ireland? Because of the brutal acts inflicted on innocent civilians by them....some things didn't change in Ireland eh.....the reason the Treaty was signed was the IRA had fook all ammo left....
