Probably some sort of shooting myth, but I understand AOLQ stemmed out of Scottish Game Keepers/Stalkers who used their .308 for deer but could not shoot the fox that dealt with the Grouse if they saw one whilst stalking...… who knows, has an element about it. I supplied a gamedealer with rabbits harvested one stormy night from my Suzuki with reduced loads and surplus bullets in my 308 ( long gone now). Just under speed of sound they were.
