jukel123 9,046
Looks the real deal to me. Like all these youngsters he's been carefully presented and not been hit yet. If he's got a good chin, he could be in the mix with the top men.( In saying that, I reckon most of the heavyweights of the 70s would make short work of the present top ten.) Seems a clean living, balanced sort of bloke so could do very well in my opinion.
Billy b 816
Like I say about yarde and some others, while being young, fit, strong & carrying a bit of power,it's still too early to tell,to make any real judgements due to the level of fighters he's faced time really is on his side though, got plenty of time & looks strong in the ring, one to keep an eye on He's got a lot going for him,has he got a chin?can he dig in & adjust when it's not going his way, that we've yet to find out

gnasher16 30,598
The trouble with a lot of these lads coming out of East London at the moment is they are coming into boxing quite late thinking the rep they have made on the street is going to stand them in good stead in the ring....Dubois,Yarde even Benns boy they are just not getting the amateur experience that they will be falling back on later on when they step up levels.Yarde has beautiful punch delivery,Dubois has great power.....but what is their basic boxing ability like....yes they can have a tear up and look good but i always worry for lads who havent laid their foundations in the amateurs.

gnasher16 30,598
I was a decent prospect many moons ago in our area yes....later on found out i maybe wasnt as good as first thought and decided to chase the money being a paid sparring partner instead ....then later on again the decision got somewhat taken out of my hands Edited March 9, 2019 by gnasher16
pesky1972 5,533
Still early days, and he’s obviously being moved through the levels, but from what I’ve seen Dubois looks easy to hit. I’d like to see how he’ll cope under pressure of fighting an opponent with real ambition. Warren says he’ll make the fight with Gorman by the end of the year. Hope so.
MickC 1,825
Dubois v Gorman later in the year would be a good match up for both, never really seen either hurt or in trouble yet to see how they respond. Like Warren said last night it never hurt Groves or Degale when he matched them early .
Billy b 816
agree with gnasher about the amateurs, for a fighter it's like serving your apprenticeship isn't it people always say the ams is a different animal to the pros, and while that may be 100% true,a good solid amateur background really is something that will stand a fighter in good stead in the pros look at fighters like GGG & Loma, big am backgrounds & it shows when they fight yes mick Gorman/dubois would be a good fight
Astanley 11,592
As Gnasher and Billy say ,you can get a long way with natural ability ,athleticism ,toughness ,power etc ...but when your acid test comes ,without a good grounding in the basics ,your lost . Agreed at the moment he likely would, thing is time is not on Joyces side however Dubois and Gorman are very young heavyweights, loss at this stage of there careers would not harm them too much.
