Its worked better for me than taking the bitch off suddenly then having to get rid of the excess milk with Epsom salts and tighten her up with white vinegar. Quote Link to post

To be fair always used Epsom salts and vinegar even if bitch had not had pups years ago used to be tablets called Kest but don’t make them anymore if bitch been pumped full goodness as she should and pups been suckling well bitch keep producing milk everyone does things different though. If the pups are getting good food from 3 to 3 and half weeks as well as feeding from the bitch they are getting goodness straight into them and from the bitch making it easier to wean them as they are not so reliant on her which makes her produce less milk gradually, each to their own though.
